The City of Love

It was an amazing experience helping the compositing team at Nexus Studios take this project to the finish line.

Craft was key here, and the compositing process was integral in making every frame feel hand-crafted. From frame-by-frame motion blurs to stylized light flares, this wasn’t your typical 2D animation job, and I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge.

Falling Scene

In this scene, I assembled the backgrounds and camera moves. I also handled the character compositing and lighting on the cyclist and skateboarder.

The original placement of each character animation was done by director FX Goby and lead compositor Jessie Richards.

Cyclist to Tub Transition

Here, I was given the challenge to create a seamless transition between the cyclist and the icy tub.

Armed with a reference from a cel animator, I used a combination of distortion effects and frame-by-frame animation to transport the viewer from one intricate scene to the next.
